This guide covers how to build new pages, or expand existing ones using Beaver Builder – including adding content, structuring layouts, and saving time with pre-built designs.
What’s the easiest way to create a new page?
In most cases, the best approach is to duplicate an existing page and update the content. This means:
- You keep a consistent design
- You don’t need to build layouts from scratch
- It’s much quicker and easier
How do I duplicate a page?
- Go to Pages in your dashboard
- Hover over an existing page with a similar layout or structure to the page you want to create
- Click Duplicate Page
You will then be taken to the standard WordPress editing screen for your new page.
From here:
- Update the page title
- Choose a short, relevant URL (permalink)
- Update the SEO (search engine optimisation) panel (if applicable on your website)
- Click Update
Then:
- Open the page using Beaver Builder
- Update the page content and layout as needed
- Click Done and Publish
How do I add new content to a page?
Beaver Builder uses “blocks” (also called modules) to build your page. These include content such as:
- Text
- Headings
- Images
- Lists
- Buttons
- Videos
- And more…
To add a new block:
- Click the “+” icon (top right)
- Select the Modules tab
- Drag a block onto your page
You’ll see blue placement guides showing where the block can go.
Once added, you can edit and save the block.
How do I structure my page layout?
Rows and columns control how your content is arranged. This creates the page layout.
- Rows = horizontal sections
- Columns = how content is arranged within each row
To add a new section:
- Click the “+” icon
- Select the Rows tab
- Drag a row layout into your page
Each row can contain one or more columns.
How do I move or rearrange content?
Hover over any block to see options:
- Move – drag the block to a new position
- Settings – edit the content
- Duplicate – copy the block
- Delete – remove it
This makes it quick to experiment with layouts.
Can I reuse existing designs or blocks?
Your website may include pre-designed sections or layouts that you can reuse on other pages. These are useful for maintaining a consistent look and feel across your website.
To access saved blocks or layouts:
- Click the “+” icon
- Go to the Saved tab
- Drag a saved block or layout into your page
Can I save my own blocks to reuse later?
Yes – you can save your own rows, blocks, or layouts to use again on other pages.
To save a block or section:
- Click on a block or row
- Click “Save As“
- Give it a name
- And “Save“
The saved item will then appear in your Saved tab.
What are global blocks?
Some blocks may have an orange border – these are known as global blocks.
Global blocks are shared across multiple pages. If you edit one, the changes will automatically apply everywhere that block is used. This is useful for shared content that needs to stay consistent throughout the website.
However, be careful when editing global blocks, as your changes may affect multiple pages.
What if I want to change the global block only on one page?
If you only want to edit a global block on the current page:
- Click on the global block
- Choose “Unlink Template”
This will convert the global block into a normal block, that can be edited independently.
Can I create my own global blocks?
Yes – when saving a block, simply choose “Global Block” as the type. This allows you to reuse and update the same content across multiple pages from a single edit.
How can I preview my page before publishing?
Before publishing, it’s a good idea to check how your page looks:
- Press “P” to preview
- View the desktop, tablet, and mobile versions
A layout that looks great on desktop may not always look the same on smaller screens.
How do I publish my changes?
When you’re ready to go live:
- Click Done
- Then Publish
Can I start from a blank page instead?
Yes – but this is usually more time-consuming.
A blank page:
- Has no layout or structure
- Requires building everything from scratch
For most users, duplicating an existing page is much quicker and easier.
